Dr. Baltazar Leão Reis – Rua Romano Stochiero 34/701 30130-120 Belo Horizonte MG Brasil. E-mail: [email protected] Hemangiomas are benign vascular tumors that may involve any part of the body. Primary osseous hemangiomas occur more frequently in the spine and less commonly in the skull. Toynbee 1845 was the author of the first report in English, a case of hemangioma of the skull bones. We report a rare case of skull cavernous hemangioma that was considered initially as prostate tumor metastasis.

متن کاملMultifocal osteolytic lesions of the skull: a primary cavernous hemangioma mimicking a neoplastic invasive lesion
Intraosseous cavernous hemangioma is a rare cause of osteolytic lesions of the skull, and its multifocal type is even more infrequent. This tumor is difficult to accurately diagnose by imaging and can be confused with osteolytic Langerhan's cell histiocytosis or other neoplasms. Here we present a case of multifocal intraosseous cavernous hemangioma of the skull treated with surgical interventio...

Case presentation: Here, we present a case of multiple cavernous hemangiomas of the skull with dural tail sign in a 24-year-old man. No abnormalities were observed in the right orbit by craniography, but frontotemporal bone ...
متن کاملCongenital cavernous hemangioma of the skull.
Calvarial cavernous hemangiomas (CHs) comprise 0.2% of benign neoplasms of the skull and frequently occur in the second and fourth decades. Their occurrence in infancy is extremely rare and they can initially be misdiagnosed as cephal hematoma or caput succadeneum that can occur due to the birth trauma, but trauma is not a predisposing factor. CT scan is more helpful than other ...
